Want to know if your man is ready for commitment and for settling down with you? Watch out for these signs...

So you have been with your man for a while now, and although it is fun and everything is perfect, you’re wondering whether he is in it for the long run or whether this really is all you’ll get. Commitment is a big deal for most men, and the idea of settling down and pledging his life to one woman can be a scary concept he will not take lightly. Thankfully, if your man is frustratingly hard to read but you are desperate to discover if he is ripe for commitment, there are signs to look for which may bring wedding bells and crying babies along in your direction very soon...

Ready for Commitment: He Develops a Beer Belly

If the toned abs and six-pack have been exchanged for a six-pack of beer, chances are he’s not leaving you anytime soon. His relaxed attitude suggests that he is comfortable around you and no longer hankers after other female attention. Because he knows you are less likely to pass judgment on his wobbly belly than any new potential mate, he is far more likely to be considering settling down in a committed relationship with you.

Ready for Commitment: He Lacks Enthusiasm for Nights Out

A man who suddenly seems to lack enthusiasm for nights out on the town with the lads could be heading straight towards commitment central. If you notice nights out have become less recurrent and he now comes home at a reasonable hour barely intoxicated, there is a high possibility that you have a guy who is tired of reckless revelry and pining for a stable, devoted companionship with you. Time to bring out the slippers and pipe!

Ready for Commitment: He Has Been Affected By a Personal Trauma

Going through a traumatic event can be life-changing and completely alter a man’s way of thinking. Such personal trauma sends his wild nights out and irresponsible behaviour into oblivion, and he begins to mature in his views to commitment. It can help him see things of value which matter to him the most and will most likely desire a more meaningful relationship with his partner – you.

Ready for Commitment: His Mates are Settling Down – Peer Pressure

Men are susceptible to peer pressure, so chances are whatever his mates are doing, he is going to want to join in too – this includes settling down. When he sees a good friend of his striding down the aisle and another one changing nappies this often leads to a rough wake-up call to start thinking about settling down himself and having a more mature attitude towards commitment. After all, no man wants to be the last lonely drunkard in the pub.

There is, of course, the prospect that he has simply fallen head over heels in love with you and wishes to snap you up before another lucky man does! Who knows, as you read this he could thinking about baby names as he makes his way to the jewellers...
